Morse Code Converter

A CLI tool that listens for keystrokes and converts them to Morse code, then decodes it back to text: a quick tap is a dot, a held key is a dash.

Tapping Out Morse Code

A command-line tool that turns raw key-press timing into Morse code, then decodes it back into readable text.

How it Works

  • Built with pynput to listen for global keyboard events outside a GUI loop.
  • Holding the a key measures press duration: under 0.3s registers a dot (.), 0.3s or longer registers a dash (-).
  • Pressing s converts the accumulated Morse sequence back to text using a reverse lookup dictionary; Backspace resets the input and Esc exits.
