Technical Implementation
- Data Processing: Utilized Pandas to ingest, clean, and filter a localized CSV database of faculty and student records, accurately mapping them to the current date.
- Workflow Automation: Replaced manual crontab tasks with GitHub Actions. Configured a daily workflow that triggers the Python script directly from the remote repository.
- Secure Integration: Integrated Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to generate OAuth 2.0 credentials, safely authenticating outbound SMTP traffic without exposing raw application passwords in the codebase.
- Dynamic Templating: Constructed adaptable HTML templates to inject personalized user data dynamically before dispatching.
The result is a fully autonomous, serverless messaging system that strictly relies on remote GitHub compute environments and Google Cloud's secure mailing APIs.
